Queer Palm

QUEER PALM LAB

The Queer Palm is the LGBTQIA+ award at the Cannes Film Festival since 2010.
Each year during the Festival, a jury honors one short film and one feature film selected from the Cannes Official Selection and its parallel sections. These films spotlight LGBTQ+ themes, feminist perspectives, or challenge gender norms. More informationj s about the 15th anniversary edition in Cannes 2025 to come around April 2025.

“Bianca” by Sarah Lazzarini

Sandra Lazzarini is a self-taught photographer born in Italy in 1976. Her work explores the beauty and diversity of the female body, forsaking stereotypes to embrace the uniqueness of each form. In 2022, she published her first book "Me and other things," edited by Snap Collective Publishing.
The “Bianca project” by Sandra Lazzarini : “ Bianca is an elderly lady, sweet and wise. We often spend time together because, besides enjoying her company, I love listening to her tales of a lifetime. Bianca is a revelation and a lesson about the future. Bianca is a collection of images on beauty. Beauty that appears faded, unsettling, and flaccid, but when observed through the magnifying lens of a loving, curious, and uncritical eye, is nothing but the foundation upon which to build the future dialogue with our bodies. Bianca is an emotional and contemplative journey on beauty and the transformation of the body, transcending the boundaries of age and physical perfection, revealing itself through the eloquent traces of a life lived.
