Queer Palm
The Queer Palm is the LGBTQIA+ award at the Cannes Film Festival since 2010.La Queer Palm est le prix LGBTQIA+ décerné au Festival de Cannes depuis 2010.
Each year during the Festival, a jury honors one short film and one feature film selected from the Cannes Official Selection and its parallel sections. These films spotlight LGBTQ+ themes, feminist perspectives, or challenge gender norms.
Chaque année, pendant le Festival, un jury récompense un court métrage et un long métrage choisis parmi la Sélection officielle de Cannes et ses sections parallèles. Ces films mettent en avant des thèmes LGBTQ+, des perspectives féministes ou remettent en question les normes de genre.

« Ericka a changé ma vie. Quand j'étais enfant à l'île de la Réunion, je traînais beaucoup en quête de mon histoire, je me sentais souvent seule et perdue.
Un jour, j'ai rencontré une légende. J'avais 8 ans et j'étais en quête d'identité, de choses qui allaient me marquer pour le reste de ma vie, dont je pourrais toujours me nourrir et qui me remettraient toujours dans le droit chemin.
Ericka est une pionnière de l'histoire LGBTQIA+ de l'île de la Réunion. C'est ma marraine la bonne fée qui, par sa flamboyance, a fait grandir un enfant heureux.
J'ai choisi de la photographier avec sa magie, comme celle de mon île, qui ont toutes les deux bouleversé mes sens. »

Kwir Nou Éxist explore la construction de la jeune communauté queer réunionnaise, son lien au territoire insulaire et aux existences qui l'ont précédée. Mené pendant cinq ans par Raya Martigny et Édouard Richard, le projet mêle photographie, archives et vidéo.

" Ericka changed my life. When I was a child on the island of Réunion, I wandered a lot in search of my story — I often felt alone and lost.
One day, I met a legend. I was 8 years old, searching for an identity, for things that would mark me for the rest of my life, that I could always draw from and that would always set me back on the right path.
Ericka is a pioneer of LGBTQIA+ history on the island of Réunion. She is my fairy godmother who, through her flamboyance, raised a happy child.
I chose to photograph her in all her magic, like my island's own, both of which have overwhelmed my senses. "

Kwir Nou Éxist explores the emergence of Réunion's young queer community, its bond to the island's territory and to the lives that came before it. Developed over five years by Raya Martigny and Édouard Richard, the project weaves together photography, archives and video.
